What form of storage do the 8TraXX, LightCue, DAM, and Binloop use?

The Audio Machine and 8TraXX use compact flash cards, which are available from the list below. Both units are shipped with a 16MB compact flash card to get you started. You can approximate the amount of memory you'll need for MP3 decent quality audio (128Kbits/sec) as approximately 1 megabyte per 1 minute of audio playback. This means you'll have about 16 minutes of storage available upon receipt of the unit.

Qualified for use in the MP3AM and 8TraXX:

SanDisk*
Simple Technologies
Micron

Known Incompatible Brands:

Delkin Devices P
NY Technologies

Also available are adapters that you can purchase to convert a Compact Flash card into a PC-Card, thus allowing access to the card with a lap top. Or, if you prefer USB, we also have USB readers available. Just tell us which one you want when you place your order.

*Sandisk is usually the most compatible with our equipment. Some 256 cf cards made in the year 2000 will not work on an AM4.
