Compatiblity issues with certain SanDisk CompactFlash cards

We have recently been notified of issues with certain SanDisk CompactFlash cards.

The cards that have issues are labeled "Ultra" cards and have a gray and orange label.

These should not be confused with the "Ultra II" cards which have a black and red label.  There are no known issues with the Ultra II cards.

The Ultra cards have had compatibility issues with the following products:
  • 8TraXX
  • LightCue
  • Older Binloop Reproducers (which require a PCMCIA-to-CompactFlash adapter)
It is best to avoid the "Ultra" cards (not "Ultra II" cards) whenever possible.
