======================================= - Alcorn McBride Inc. - - Digital Binloop HD Reproducer - REPROHD - - and - Digital Video Machine HD - DVM8400 --------------------------------------- Installation Instructions 1. Copy OS.NEW to the Compact Flash card. 2. Reset unit by turning it off, and then on again. 3. Wait for Update to complete. You will see the status LED turn ORANGE, and then turn off. 4. For the DVM-8400, the firmware version will be displayed on the LCD during powerup. It can also be read via Ethernet or RS-232 using the Version Request (?V) command. 5. For the ReproHD, the firmware version can be read using the reproducer version request in the Binloop Config software. NOTE: When the update is complete, the OS.NEW file will be renamed to OS.SAV so that the update does not repeat when the hardware is powered-up again. If you want to use a single flash card to update multiple units (for example, an entire Binloop cage), you can change the name of the OS.NEW file to FACTORY.NEW. The FACTORY.NEW file will perform an update just like OS.NEW, only it will not be renamed at the end of the update process. This means that after an update, you can remove the flash card from the product and insert it into another product to perform another update. This method will allow you to update an entire Binloop cage using a single card, without powering down the cage. ---------------------------------------- If you have any questions regarding any items listed in this document, please contact support@alcorn.com. ***************************************** * * * Release Notes * * * ***************************************** ************************* * Version 1.28c * ************************* 12/23/13 -Genlock retention affected by offset overide fix. ************************* * Version 1.28b * ************************* 12/19/13 -Fixed genlock aquisition routine with proper VTG resets from lost/found external sync sources. ************************* * Version 1.28 * ************************* 12/16/13 -Corrected VSync loss redetection ************************* * Version 1.27 * ************************* 02/01/13 -HDMI output is now forced on even when display devices fails to report EDID information (Both) -Corrected output shift on HDMI that occurs when operating in 480i or 480p ************************* * Version 1.26 * ************************* 12/13/12 -Implemented Baud Rate command in Pioneer Protocol (DVM-8400) -Implemented Baud Rate setting in 'Unit Setup' menu of the front-panel interface (DVM-8400) ************************* * Version 1.25 * ************************* 10/25/12 -Implemented Active Mode Request in Alcorn Protocol (REPROHD) -Fixed issue with missing 0x0D (CR) character on Mute Status queries (DVM-8400) ************************* * Version 1.24 * ************************* 08/03/12 -Corrected an issue that could potentially allow the HDMI output to automatically re-enable after it had been disabled with the VE command (Both) -Applied IP Checksum patch (DVM-8400) ************************* * Version 1.23 * ************************* 07/16/12 -Implemented Freespace (?R) Command (DVM-8400) -Implemented support for 'Set Volume' Command (REPRO-HD) ************************* * Version 1.22 * ************************* 04/09/12 -Postponed 'XX' command by 0.5 seconds so that an ACK (R) response could be safely sent to the control system (DVM-8400) -Implemented FTP 'Resume' feature to prevent a full restart of a file transfer that has been disrupted (DVM-8400) -Added seamless support for 'LP' command within playlists (Both) -Implemented Video Enable/Disable feature that allows user to completely shutdown all video outputs with the 'VE' command (Both) ************************* * Version 1.21 * ************************* 09/29/11 -Reduced Video Output Jitter by making adjustments to A/V sync system (Both) -Implemented Sync Mode command to allow for the A/V sync system to be disabled (REPRO-HD) -Corrected an issue with the HDMI output that was causing it to be shifted right by 4 pixels (Both) ************************* * Version 1.20 * ************************* 07/14/11 -Added support for the OR operator (|) as an additional delimiter for the Ethernet String (NS) Pioneer command. This prevents the video output from flashing to black. This feature works as long as you are searching/playing a file that is the same codec (i.e. MPEG2, H264, VC1). -Implemented multiple file 'seaming' feature. This allows you to playback files larger than 4GB as long as you split it into smaller chunks. For example, you could take a 6GB file named VID00001.MPG and break it into three 2GB files named VID00001.MPG, VID00001.001, and VID00001.002. The Binloop HD and DVM-8400 will automatically 'seam' these files back together during playback and treat them as one large coherent file. -Fixed a problem where certain Transport Streams could not be identified, causing a search/play command to fault. -Fixed a problem where the status would prematurely change from 'Playing' to 'Stopped' several seconds before the end of Video Elementary streams. -Fixed some issues that could cause video files to get 'stuck' on the first frame when doing a normal Play command. -Fixed timing problems with the HD-SDI output. For NTSC modes (1080i29 & 720p59), the SDI output could have caused trouble with some SDI equipment. For PAL mode (1080i25 & 720p50) the SDI output would simply not work at all. -Fixed a timing problem with the HDMI output for 1080i25. -Status LED now blinks GREEN during a search to indicate the the search is in progress.
