When Alcorn McBride was founded in 1986, our emphasis was on audio, video, show and lighting control equipment for the world's leading theme parks. By the early 1990s, with nearly 100% market penetration, we were looking for new opportunities for expansion.

Europe was the logical choice, and key to the European market is France. In addition to having the continent's major theme parks, France has a culture that expects cutting edge audio, video and lighting presentations. With its broad variety of museum, retailing and cultural venues, France quickly became our most important international market.

We were fortunate early on to meet Henry Corrado, who was employed by one of our dealers in Lyon. Steve Alcorn and Henry worked together on the installation of the Hennessey visitor center in Cognac, and quickly formed a close bond. Accordingly, we were delighted when Henry was selected by our European distributor, Comm-tec, to head their French office.

In 2001, with another major theme park in the works and exploding opportunities in the retail market, it's was logical time for Alcorn McBride to establish its first international subsidiary, Alcorn McBride s.a.r.l., in France.

Alcorn McBride president Steve Alcorn had this to say about the new company: "Alcorn McBride s.a.r.l. allows us to provide local demo stock, installation assistance, and pre- and post-sales support throughout France. Here in the U.S, our reputation is based upon making sure that ‘it always turns out right'. Alcorn McBride s.a.r.l. will carry on that tradition. There can be no better person to head this new company than Henry Corrado. He's an expert show control programmer, and has the depth of audio/video experience needed to assist with even the most demanding applications for our equipment. Our customers across France can attest to his knowledge and helpfulness in meeting their needs and exceeding their requirements. In 2002 we purchased an office building near Paris Disneyland. The new facility enables us to provide local warehousing, support and cutom engineering from a location that is convenient to all of our customers throughout France.
