Terra Mitica is Paramount's park in Spain. The architecture of the site, constructed on the side of an enormous hill which was created during highway construction, is original. Various attractions are harmoniously perched at different levels.
This configuration is often undesirable, because it permits visual intrusions from one area into another. But Terra Mitica, with its ancient civilization theming, turns it into an asset. The sea, which faces the park, reinforces the theming.
Terra Mitica offers several roller-coasters, of which the "Colossus" is the most impressive; it uses the hill as part of its experience.
Overall Terra Mitica offers 24 attractions including three flume rides, two roller coasters, several dark rides and simulators.
As in all Spanish theme parks, Alcorn McBride products are used throughout. The video sources are DVM2s. 8-TraXX provide the audio. Many LightCues are used to control both exterior and attraction lighting.
