The show, presented hourly, is performed by ten animated characters. 70 relays and a comparable number of inputs are used to control and monitor the figures.
Puy du Fou chose an Alcorn McBride control system after collecting the opinions of technicians and operators at other parks about the reliability of various show control brands.
The system includes a V4+, two IO64s and a SMPTE Machine. The actor who plays the role of the official uses a radio remote control hidden in his clothing to start the show. The four minute presentation then runs autonomously. The system is programmed to automatically detect and work around any mechanical failures. For example, if a figure fails to appears, its part in the presentation is skipped.
Winscript's Real Time Wizard made it easy for the programmers to achieve a very convincing result in record time. |
