Alcorn McBride provides the sights and sounds behind the scenes at Universal Studios Japan. There are 18 attractions, 20 themed restaurants, and lots of stores in this large park.
David Speaks Up. Or Not.
Our Director of Sales, David Geoghegan, loves to talk about theme park projects. Here he is in a popular advertisement, trying to tell you about some of our best customers.
Products that Simply Work
From the beginning, our products are designed for the rigors of theme park life: zero maintenance, super high reliability, and easy customization. For more than twenty years our name has been recognized as the most reliable audio, video and controls manufacturer at nearly all of the world's major theme parks.
In fact, customers sometimes forget they're using our gear, because it's the only piece of equipment they never have to fix. We have many controllers that have been operating behind the scenes for more than a decade without a reboot or power cycle. In an industry that's maintenance intensive, it's great being the ones who never attract unwanted attention. That's why our slogan is "The Sights and Sounds Behind the Scenes."
When problems do occur (and we should know, we live in Orlando, the lightning capital of the world) our technical support is unsurpassed. Our engineers have been known to deliver replacement products at 3am, or to hop a plane to the other side of the world on a few hours' notice. Of course, we're also available by phone and e-mail, and we're one of the few companies where you can speak directly to the person who designed your product.
Because our products are designed specifically for your market, they're easy to use the way you need to use them. You won't be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Everything we make is designed for flexibility, frame accuracy, fast response, and easy diagnosis.
Alcorn McBride is also a full service engineering firm. We can custom design exactly what you need. Whether you see the product you need listed here, or have a completely different requirement, we're here to help. Many of our products originated from a customer's requirement. Whether it's a custom user interface, specialize audio/video or control, or something really wacky, we can help. Call us today to discuss your next project.
Customers sometimes forget they're using our gear, because it's the only piece of equipment they never have to fix.
This is our famous 16-slot 24-bit audio/video player that's used in most of the world's great theme park attractions. There's also a less expensive 16-bit version called the Video Binloop.
With a host of output options, this compact player is ideal for small shows. Its video looks much better than a DVD, and there are no parts to wear out. We also make a Digital Audio Machine, for applications that don't require video.
This High Definition Player handles video at nearly three times the broadcast rate. It's one of the few HD players that offers frame sync, and is featured in our 4D Theater Application Note.
Why leave an expensive lighting board in a permanent installation? The LightCue records your lighting board's output and then syncs to your show's timecode.
The V16+ is the most widely used show controller in theme parks worldwide. It runs our super-stable ScriptOS operating system. It's easy to program because it understands timecode and is frame accurate.
